Scatman John... 2 songs!

Yeah, unfortunately he is one of those guys who makes one or two successful songs and disappear.

He became very famous in 1995 when he released his first successful single "Scatman", and the second one "Scatman's World".

I was only a child listening to my first hits, and these songs are simply unforgettable for me. Few years later, I heard the song once again and decided to look for the lyrics.

This kind of music is usually accompanied by terrible lyrics, which don't make any sense, or just talk about a kiss or something like that... But surprisingly theses songs are really meaningful and discuss a little bit about the way we live and behave. At the same stage, I looked for new releases and found out he had died in 1999, when he was 57.

It was really hard to choose between them, but today, I will give you Scatman's World, by Scatman John.

Soundtrack Kick-off - R.E.M.

It isn't long time ago that I was a kid, even though is hard to remember when I heard this song for the very first time.

I can't remember very well, but when I was 7, 8 years old, I used to have a yellow pocket radio. It was really simple and cheap, but it was my first "musical friend".

I was in the kitchen with my father, listening to the radio while he was reading the newspaper when this song played, and I felt really weird. It felt as I was really enjoying and loving a song for the first time, that everything before that was only a mere passion, simply meaningless.

I need to assume that I'm not a big R.E.M. fan, but this song is definitely part of my Lifespan Soundtrack, it's where it starts.
